The Look
Keeping its beauty spot, we have kept this looking like a mid-70s faded cherry burst Custom gigging tool. It would suit a black pick-guard. We thought gold hardware would suit this.
Headstock
Proudly sporting the words Brighton, Lead and Player. The good stuff is underneath, with gold Gotoh SD90 tuners offering great looks and stability.
Neck
This neck arrived straight, and is still straight with 011s on it. This guitar may well be a bolt on, but it was made to last.
Pick-ups
2 x Clausen Brightons (custom wound) wired in the Jimmy Page fashion therefore offering everything from hot T-Top, to that ‘Page honk’. There is a decent balance between neck and bridge and in single coil mode, there is still ample power and presence.
Bridge
New gold Gotoh Saddles and Tail.
Controls
Gibson OEM 3-way toggle, standard volume and tones for each Clausen. Volume knobs pull out to split the humbuckers to single coils, upper tone knob pulls out as a phase reversal for the bridge Clausen and the lower tone knob pulls out to put the bridge and neck Clausens into series mode. The variety of tones available from this guitar is huge – all of them useful.
